Luis Cañas Crianza 2010 0,75 l:
Enthusiastically Robert Parker writes about Luis Cañas’ wines: "The 2009 Crianza, a blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Garnacha aged for 12 months in French and American oak, sports a very polished bouquet with dark cherries, sloes and fresh fig. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, good acidity and impressive structure towards the finish that has a convincing sense of symmetry and focus. This is a very natural, sophisticated Crianza meriting aging. Drink 2014-2020. Bodegas Luis Canas owns 90 hectares of vine. This is augmented by 200 hectares under long-term contract, dispersed over 815 parcels. These wines were imbued with wonderful purity and sophistication, managing to tread that fine line between modernism and classicism and embracing the virtues from the two. Moreover, I found that these wines evoked a sense of place, something that not all Rioja wines do. These all comes highly recommended."
A fusion of fruit and wood: A deep and fruity flavour that tastes like cherries and sloes joins a sub-taste of oak and clay and thus creates a wonderful bouquet that becomes apparent as soon as you recognise the dark and somehow purple colour shimmering in your glass
